Pass...Easter...and sickness

Howdy all!!!! Easter is here, and of course, in true Mik fashion I have an upper respiratory infection that seems bound and determined to turn into the full-blown flu...joy.

Oh well...I can be sick later...for now...it is time with my family!!! Tonight we are going to play a new game that we just purchased for the night...

For my students: Thanks for all your notes, letters and pictures...they mean so much to me. I miss all of you very much too. Keep up your good work and I will write back to each of you as soon as I can.

Happy Easter, shout for joy!!! Our Lord has risen from the dead!!!

Pass...and sickness

Howdy y'all!!!!

Easter weekend is here and with it a 36 hour pass to see my family...as long as they come here....yippee....but they are coming and I get to see them in the morning!

The army finally got around to putting in some computers that we can check our email on...and post to here from...so I thought that I'd say hi!

The shots and all that I have received since I have been here plus the living in an open bay with 30+other guys have us all sick with respiritory infections...just in time to see our families...joyous, no?

Any hoo...I have gotten a couple of letters from y'all and Cinnamon says that she is bringing more this weekend...I can't tell y'all how much that means to me! I will write back as soon as I am able...so hold in there...we have just been a lil busy at times!

Y'all take care and God Bless!!!

Happy Easter!

The longest journey...

...begins with an hellacious bus-ride.

Today it was to Terrell for a deployment ceremoney...tomorrow we go to Ft. Hood to begin our train-up...woo-hoo.

I'm excited...ready to begin and get the show on the road...these delayed/extended good-byes are hard emotionally...

Well...from here on out...I officially do not know what my schedule is, or when I will be online...so...

Y'all take care and keep us all in your prayers.

Mik, out.

P.S. Cinnamon...I am so proud of you and the kids...I love you.

One more...

...thing before I pack...

To all my students...please be very careful on what personal information you post in the comments.... These comments are open to everyone that views this site...including your parents!

Y'all mind your new teacher (and all your old ones too!!!!)

Take care, study hard and remember what you've learned!

Mr. R.

Sound Boots and Saddles...grab your gear and mount up!

The day is here...I report for training to prepare for an overseas assignment...it is 1 AM and I am still not packed...all my gear is strewn all across our livingroom.

The house is still, the Beloved Spouse and all the Saintly Children are asleep...I walk from room to room gazing on their peaceful repose...I will miss them...more than I can ever express...

And yet...I feel a peace about leaving...one that I could not have felt had this moment come three years ago. For that...for not being able to leave then...I will be forever grateful.

In these last three years I have rediscovered my family...and recentered our relationship...with God, with each other and with the outside world...and I thank God, every day, that I did not lose this...that I was able to find myself again...in my own home...even though I am now preparing to leave this house...my heart will still be here...home...always.

Gotta pack...

God bless!

Tempis fugit

Time flies...

Friday was my last day of teaching for the next year or so. It was hard to leave...the faculty, staff, and students have made my family and I a part of their own. I cannot wait to be able to go back there. On Saturday, I took my last test for my teaching certification and then came home to move all of my furniture to our new house, and we have been busily painting and fixing and getting everything set so that my wife and kids can be settled in whilst I am away...and that day is getting closer and closer.

Well...closer it may be getting, but I have some more painting to do here. So...I'm off for a bit. Will try to get another post or two up here before reporting for duty.

Y'all take care!

Mik, out.
